The Stein Restaurant, Brewery, and Tap Room are located in the promenade of the historic Woodward Opera House, Mount Vernon, Ohio. The physical location of the facilities were modified during the planning phase to better accommodate tenants throughout the Opera House. The ninety four seat Restaurant utilizes gray tones to tie the historic structure to a modern space with a twist of “steam punk” and historic images as accents. Guests may travel across the promenade to the 70 seat Tap Room for a view of the brew tank room and enjoy service at the custom bar or dine from the restaurant menu. A similar color scheme brings the Tap Room to life with an upscale industrial feel, splashes of color on the bar, and images / art to egage guests. The existing structure and historic requirements challenged the design team to maintain the historic value while meeting the needs of the modern day Tenant.
